Here's a great deal for your child begining orchestra. Don't wast your money renting a viola !! If your child wants to play viola and needs the smaller size,Here is a great 13 inch. This is a quality built instrument. It was made in 1979 and is a copy of the infamous "Antonius Stradivarius". This is not a cheap chinese viola you will see on here for $50 bucks. This was made in America in the days when Quality mattered !! Being it is 30 years old, it does have some wear in the finish, But still plays beautifully. My daughter has played this for three years and finally needs the bigger size. If you rent one of these through the school you will pay hundreds of dollars over the years and if they don't like it and give it up, your out all that money!! This comes with the viola, horse hair bow, hard shell case( a must for small children!! ) and some bow rosin. The case has small cracks next to the feet, but still works and looks good and will not fall apart. these cases are built for a beating. I don't think you will find a quality older viola in good shape for less.
