Composer Name - Tor Aulin (1866-1914) Opus and Name - 'Polska (Mazurka)' from "Four Aquarelles (Watercolors)" Intruments - Violin and Piano Year - 1912 Other Info - From the "All Music Guide:" Swedish composer Tor Aulin was the brother of composer and pianist Laura Aulin and studied at the Stockholm Conservatory and also in Berlin. He founded the first continuously active Swedish quartet in 1887 which specialized in Scandinavian music, as well as the traditional classical repertoire. At the turn of the century Aulin devoted more of his time to conducting. He directed and helped to found the Stockholm Konsertforeningen and conducted The Goteborg Orkesterforening from 1909 to 1912. His compositions are close in style to that of the German Romantics, exhibiting the influence of Schumann and Grieg. He wrote for orchestra as well as chamber works and some incidental music. Besides the piano and violin score, there is also a separate violin part, so it can be immediately performed! The music is very fun to play (even for the pianist!). Condition - Average used. The spine is separated. In the USA, I will ship insured, using First Class or Priority Mail with an inner envelope and in a stiff cardboard mailer. I will ship anywhere in the world.
