Hello and thanks for looking at my auction
Well I have been cleaning out my house, and closets, and this has been in the family for as long as I can remember..atleast 50 years..I dont much or anything about it. I know that my great grandmother used to play it, and then when it was passed down through the family, I eventually wound up with it.
Please, I encourage you to ask questions, and I took many pictures, it isnt in any way in mint shape, the case is dry, and cracking, 3 out of 4 strings are still attached and most likely original as I know it hasnt been played in atleast 30 years.
On the inside, it states..
Joseph Guarnerius fecit
Cremonae anno 1734 IHS
I don't know what else to list or say, I know there is only 1 other auction for a Joseph Guarnerius model on Ebay, and they are asking $3999.00..granted its very clean, so I dont know how much mine is worth, maybe at $999.99 I am short selling myself, its not broken in any way, just shows age, I am sure it can be re-finished..I could probably refinish it, and nobody would know, but I want it to be a diamond in the rough, and original....
According to internet research, there were turn of the century copies made in Germany, and have the spelling Josef on the inside, mine clearly states Joseph..and I checked a few internet sites with the name, and they list violins between $1000-$2000 in worse shape..so again, please ask questions, and even educate me if you have knowledge that will tell me what I have, and what its worth..Thanks and Happy Bidding..
Being a family item, if it seems like it doesnt have much monetary value, and doesnt bring anything stellar, I reserve the right to end auction early..so please email me if you have any offers or concerns, basically I am not going to sell her for $100.00.. I would rather keep her and pass her along to my children..
Thanks, and Good Luck to ALL !!

Thanks For the Questions, and Information, I have had 2 seperate bidders inform me that the Violin has a market value anywhere between $500 and $1200 in its current state of condition, many thanks to NB***Violins, your information was very helpfull. I am not looking to retire on the sale, but I am not about to loose my house and have to live on the street, so if anybody has any offers, I will entertain them, I am lowering the Buy it now to $599 to see if there is any interest..Good Luck, and please keep the emails and questions coming, many thanks again..

EBAY SUCKS, I listed this Violin in Vintage Violins, and when you look, ITS NOT THERE..SO I might end the auction early and RELIST, as nobody can find this .. WHY HAVE A LISTING, If it doesnt show up under that heading..Ebay needs to get their heads out of their @$$, Now I know why I use other auction sites..
