Music for Bastards is also available on itunes. I like to describe my music as like being yelled at by a wild dog!! The Guitar work is inspired hugely by Metalica and Nirvana, whilst adopting an AC/DC style structure and overall tonality to my songs. The Drums!!, I absolutely LOVE the drums, especially on Ugly (Nathan you are a champ!!) it kind of reminds me of a Led Zeppelin sort of sytle mixed in with the sloppiness of either The Who or Jet. Whatever though it rocks!! Bass, well the bass lines are pretty simple, especially on Take the Sunshine, I am not a seasoned bass player, but you gotta do what ya gotta do!! If there are any bass players out there, don't be afraid to give us a yell!! Finally the vocals (pretty unique), once again I'm left with these duties... but even though they are unorthodox, I've got to say that I'm pretty happy with it, and glad I gave it a shot. I've been a musician for about 13 years, and have been in and out of bands since then .....forever working on my album (the songs are alot different now to how they were then!!), but it finally looks like I might have found the perfect group of musicians to join forces with, and start putting this (and their) operation on the road. All funds raised from these sales will go toward recording my (or our) full length record entitled "Quality Sour Mash Rock 'n' Roll". Music for Bastards Track Listing: 1. Ugly 2. Take the Sunshine 3. Spiderain 4. My Little Friend (available via email) or 4. A New Day (available on itunes, and on CD) Tracks were recorded at Line Level Studios, Port Macquarie by Rob Mestric (check out his music), and features Nathan Franklin on drums, Rob Mestric on Keyboard and myself on vocals, guitar and bass. About - Ugly: Ugly is a 2.5 minute powerhouse, with lyrics inspired by Nirvana's "Dumb". Ugly adopts an AC/DC structure to it's intro, verses and choruses, (pretty standard stuff) and the solo piece originally found inspiration from the (awesome) Black Sabbath song, "Supernaut"; where the guitarist engages in a continous riff over a rolling drum solo. About - Take the Sunshine: I wrote the lyrics for Take the Sunshine about seven years ago and stumbled across the main riff a year later whislt trying to figure out the riff to Incubus' "Drive" (I was pretty much a long way of the mark!!), I gave it a pretty standard, 3xVerse, 3xChorus structure and wacked a spanish guitar solo of the top of it, the lyrics explore a depression I was going through at the time, and theraputic process of expressing feelings through song. About - Spiderain: What the hell is Spiderain!!! This has got to be the most random song I have ever written! It is one and a half minutes of pure punk! I stumbled across the riff accedently one day, threw some ridiculous lyrics over the top and to turned it into a one minute no holds barred song of pure nonsense. I think the best rock songs are the no brainers, rock music is an art, but getting back to the basics, rock music was about fun. About - My Little Friend: This song is a little (well alot) messed up. I used to smoke alot of pot back in the last years of high school and eventually I thought that I was going crazy. So I penned down my thoughts and discovered that my crazy thoughts were just that, thoughts... it's all in your head. Still a messed up song though. Oh yeah and it was the first song that I ever recorded, it cost me $50, and you can hear me coughing at the end of the song!! About - A New Day: This is a tribute to my late Uncle Juan "Charlie" Morales, who was a big supporter of my music. I played this song at his funeral, (you are a champ mate!!) Rock 'n' Roll!!
