1979 LOWREY, by Story and Clark, Hand Painted Ebony and Pecan Upright Console Piano with Matching Bench. Serial # 565873 Story and Clark started building Pianos in 1895 and using the Charles Frederick Stein Scale in 1970, also the same year Lowrey merged with them as a division of the Norlin Industries. Someone hand-painted over the Satin Pecan finish on front of piano except for the key cover. Standing 40 inches tall, 57.5 inches wide and 24” inches deep. The music rack rail on the back is not nailed on and there are no knobs on the front of key cover, all things that can easily be fixed by your piano technition. Hardtop storage bench has matching Early American style legs along with the piano, and brass Ferrules on the feet. Also 3 brass working pedals. Console and Action are good and no cracks in the spruce soundboard. “High Tension Scale” and “Concert Tone” are stamped on wood inside. Pretty, decorative built in acoustic vents on each side for better sound. This piano needs work on the outside, but it does sound nice, and it begs to be played.
