Listed is a vintage violin made in the period of 1780's up to 1810. This violin I believe is either English or German origin. It does have an added label inside that states just ( mittenwald, germany ) and I feel this label was added later on years ago. I have included as many pictures as Ebay would allow me to post on this listing. This violin has many old repairs done to it and all appear to be professionally done. There is a lot of writing inside the violin that I assume are repairer names and such. I do not see any bass bar or sound post cracks or repairs. I do not see any open cracks or open seams at all and this violin is in excellent condition for it's age. It does have a grafted scroll and the pegs holes have been rebushed at some point in its life which is well done also. I have looked very close and this is not a fake graft which alot are. Myself I enjoy seeing the excellent repair work that these old violins receive through the years. This violin has a one piece back with nice flame in it as well. The violin has excellent sweet rich tone throughout its range and it sound cuts well with other instruments. Its tone is also very well balanced from bass to treble. This is an instrument to be played and enjoyed not one to get an leave put away in a case under a bed somewhere. The upper bout is 160m across at its widest point and the center bout is 117m. The lower bout is 199m across. The body is 352m long and the violin has an over all length of 23.5 inches long. As we all know these are getting harder to come across as the years pass. This violin will ship with the sound post dropped and tension left off the strings plus will ship fully insured for the sale price in a suitable case to protect the instrument.
