This Oboe was acquired at a local estate sale. It is a Selmer, Made in USA instrument. It has good looking silver and shiny black finish. It is a plastic material. (not wood) The corks on the ends are soft and go together tight. The cork covers are included. The instrument includes 2 USED reeds one of which is a "Jones soft reed", and the other is a "Jones" reed. (The markings on it look like M5?) The price sticker is still on the bottom of one of the reeds at $12.95. Also included is a used tube of cork grease. Also included are 2 tools that look like chisels and a nylon sock used for cleaning the instrument. We took this to a local music store and they used a light to check for "leaks". They said it had some cork leaks. We paid $65 to have some corks replaced. A copy of that receipt will accompany the instrument. The serial number on the instrument is # B 43053. One condition problem is the former owner engraved her name in all 3 pieces near the ends. Picture #4 shows 2 of the 3 pieces and the engraving. All 3 pieces have the name on them. I know from experience that this was done with a vibratory engraver. It is light and not deep. Also, there is a little bit of light green grime on 1 end where the 2 pieces go together. The music store said they could clean it up for an additional cost, but we kept to replacing the corks only. We do not know how to play this instrument and are selling it AS IS. We have described it to the best of our ability. Please understand this is a used instrument and we do not know how old it is. Other then the name engraved on it, the finish is shiny and black without any other deep scratches or damage other then what is noted above. Please email any questions if you have any BEFORE you bid.
