I'm launching a series of digital "reprints" on CD of various old musical instruments trade catalogs and other antique music related books and prints and new items similar to this are added to my eBay store all the time. And don't hesitate to ask me if you can't find what you're looking for. There are hundreds of other titles in peparation.
Please note that the item in this and my other ebook auctions are reproductions, not originals.
For sale is a CD with a facsimile of a guitar catalog from the legendary English guitar and banjo manufacturers Emile Grimshaw & Son.

Physical description of the originalThe size is 25.3 cm height and 19.2 cm width.
The brochure consists of two unbound sheets of fairly high quality paper printed black-and-white and folded to make a total of eight pages.
DatingUnfortunately the brochure is undated. It can't have been published earlier than 1934 of course, since that was when the Grimshaw company was founded.
The fact that it doesn't mention the electric guitar introduced by Grimshaw in 1935, suggests it can't be later than 1934 either, although we can't say that for certain. However, we can be sure it's pre-war. The paper quality is too good for a wartime publication and after 1945 Grimshaw's product range had changed significantly.
ContentThe title only mentions Grimshaw's unique "Revelation" series of guitars with their banjo-style resonator backs but the brochure also includes the more conventional "Hartford" guitars.
FormatThe CD presents the catalog in a choice of three different formats: high resolution (180 dpi) JPEG scans for maximum quality, HTML format allowing you to leaf through the scans as if it was a paper book and PDF format for quick reference with all pages in a single document. It is readable on any reasonably modern computer with a CD drive.
